All About Me: Building Confidence, Identity & Belonging in Preschool

If you walk through The School House during our All About Me theme, you'll quickly notice that the learning doesn't stop at the classroom door.

Our classrooms and hallways transform to reflect what our children are exploring. You'll see children's artwork, self-portraits, family projects, photographs, conversations, and other pieces of their learning displayed throughout the school.

And while All About Me is a fun preschool theme, there is a much bigger purpose behind it.

During the early childhood years, children are beginning to understand an important question: Who am I?

They are learning about their families, their feelings, their interests, their physical characteristics, what makes them similar to their friends, and what makes them wonderfully different.

These experiences help children develop a stronger sense of identity, confidence, and belonging. They also create natural opportunities for children to learn about their classmates, appreciate differences, build friendships, and understand that every family and every child has their own story.

At The School House, we also believe children's learning deserves to be visible.

That's why our hallways and classrooms change with our curriculum rather than simply being decorated with generic classroom décor. When children see their own artwork, ideas, photographs, and projects displayed throughout their school, we're communicating something important:
