Learning Through the Five Senses: Science Comes to Life at The School House

At The School House, we believe some of the best learning happens when children are able to touch, explore, investigate, and discover for themselves.

Our recent Five Senses science activities gave our preschoolers the opportunity to explore how we use sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste to understand the world around us. Rather than simply talking about the five senses, children were encouraged to experience them through hands-on activities, observations, conversations, and plenty of curiosity.

This is a great example of the way we approach learning at The School House. Our program blends strong academics with hands-on, Reggio-inspired experiences, allowing children to build important skills while still learning in a way that feels exciting and meaningful.

We want our classrooms to be places where children aren't afraid to ask “Why?”, try something new, make predictions, and discover the answer for themselves.

Because preschool should prepare children for kindergarten—but it should also help them fall in love with learning.
